Louisiana’s UGA Football recruits: How they got here

On Friday, UGA quarterback and three-star defensive tackle Jonathan Allen was selected as the fifth commit in the 2017 class of 2017, joining four-star receiver Corey Taylor, three-stars safety Josh Allen, four-stars defensive tackle Deionte Johnson and safety Johnathan Burt.

The Tigers will add four- and five-star players to the 2017 recruiting class, joining seven-star linebacker Isaiah Brown and four- star defensive end Justin Young as the top five recruits in the class.

UGA will have a class that also includes five-stars linebacker Jordan Tettleton, four five- stars defensive lineman and three five- and four star defensive tackles.

The four-time all-American is ranked as the No. 7 player in the state of Georgia, the No-3 overall player and the No, 2 overall player in Georgia.

Allen is the No 3 quarterback in the nation and No. 1 player in FBS in all-purpose yards per attempt.

Allen’s four-year letter offers are a great fit for UGA.

Allen started all 13 games at quarterback last season, passing for 3,732 yards and 19 touchdowns and throwing 23 touchdown passes.

Allen was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and the SEC Defensive Player of Week 12, leading the SEC in passing yards per game with 4,566.

Allen has made the jump from the state to the nation’s capital to the SEC East Conference after being selected as a semifinalist for the Heisman Trophy.

Allen and the Tigers will face the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday in Birmingham.

Uga will play LSU on Nov. 15 in Baton Rouge.
